Putting League Rules

Rules

  1. Matches: Two Teams play head-to-head in a Match consisting of 3 Games

    1. Teams are composed of at least 4 recurring Players and up to 6

    2. Games require at least 4 Players to play and Players can be rotated out each Game of a Match

    3. Team may utilize Substitutes in the event Team Players are unable to attend leaving a Team short of 4 Players to be present for a Match or a single Game

    4. Substitutes are allowed

      1. In order for a Substitute to play in the Playoffs they must have played in at least 4 Games throughout the season

  2. Games: one of 3 played each Match, consisting of 10 total Frames

    1. Games are consistent of 10 Frames each

      1. Each Frame requires each of the 4 players to throw 5 discs in each Frames: a Turn of 5 Putts thrown for each of the 4 Players in the given Game of the 3 in a Match

      2. There are 6 total “Putts” in each Turn available to score in each of the first 9 Frames

        1. If a Player makes a total of 1 Putt, that is their score, the same goes for 2 and so on, until all 5 Putts are made, whereby the Player receives a tally of 6 Putts for 5 Putts made

          1. Only 5 discs are thrown each Turn, but 6 “Putts” made are available for score b. Each Team will have their own Basket c. Each of the 4 Players of the Team in the Game must complete their 5 Putts in each Frame

        2. Scores are marked on the Scorecard in the appropriate Player square

      3. A Putt thrown is = 5 a Frame, vs. a Putt made can = 6 total each Frame

      4. Upon reaching Frame 10 Players will have an opportunity to have the discs back for additional turns

        1. If 5 Putts are made in Frame 10, Player will tally 5 Putts and shoot again, if 5 Putts are made on that second Frame 10 turn, Player will tally an additional 5 Putts and shoot again, if 5 Putts are made once more the Frame 10 score is tallied at 15 Putts made

        2. Alternatively, if 5 are made, they are thrown again and if 3 Putts are made the total tally for Frame 10 is 8

      5. All Frames are summed for each Player’s Game Score and a Team sum will be marked in the Scorecard as well for a Team Game Score a. Each Scorecard, for each Game will have 5 scores per Team: Team total for the Game, and each of the 4 Player totals for the Game (15 Points available per Match)

  3. Points: 1 point is available for every score tallied on the Scorecard

    1. Points are allotted for the Team with the highest tally in the game, then

      1. For each Player’s score compared to the other Team Player’s Scores in order of Player highest to lowest scores, i.e.

      2. Game 1

        Team 1 1.

        1. Player A – 32 (highest) (point awarded for beating 31 below)

        2. Player B – 22 (3rd highest) (point awarded for beating 20 below)

        3. Player C – 28 (2nd highest) (point not awarded for losing to 30 below)

      3. Player D – 13 (4th highest) (point not awarded for losing to 15 below)

        Team 1 Total – 95 (point not awarded for losing to 97 below)

        1. Team 2 1. Player E – 31 (highest)

        2. Player F – 30 (2nd highest)

        3. Player G – 20 (3rd highest)

        4. Player H – 15 (4th highest)

          Team 2 Total – 97 iii. Team 1 points = 2, Team 2 points = 3

  4. Ranking:

    1. Teams will be ranked by total Points won

    2. In the event of a tie in points, Teams will be differentiated by total Putts made

    3. In the event of a continued tie, Teams will then be differentiated by highest Player Average for the season.

  5. Lanes: Putting Lanes will be straight and segmented into 3 distances: 25’, 30’, 35’

    1. Each Lane will be the Team Lane for the entirety of the Game and then swapped for the following Game and back for the final Game

    2. Frame 1 will be set at middle distance 30’ 3. Frame 10 will be set at middle distance 30’

    3. A lunging, or stepping/jumping is allowable for distance 3 at 35’ 5. If lunging or stepping happens at any other distance the Frame will be marked 0 Other

  6. Rules:

    1. Only Putters and Mid-Range discs are allowed for safety’s sake

      1. This means a disc of a speed 5 or lower

    2. Putters will be made available to all Players for use by JoySwich

    3. Excessive lane deviation into other Teams’ Putting Lanes will not be tolerated and could result in an automatic DQ for the week

    4. Retrieval of discs occurs after each Team Player completes their turn in the given frame

      1. Player 1 for each team will go, then retrieve, then Player 2 for each Team and so on

      2. Players can and should putt at the same time for flow of the Match

    5. Any heckling or non-friendly trash-talking is not permitted – this is a league focused solely on company, friendly competition and libations
